Kimley-Horn is looking for an Electrical Designer to join our MEP team in Tampa, FL!
Responsibilities:- The person in this position will use computer drafting software to generate site plans and construction drawings for Kimley-Horn projects
- Designing and producing sets of plans; implementing and managing AutoCAD drafting and plan preparation standards
- Utilize AutoCAD & Revit to create construction documents and perform quantity takeoffs, including site layouts, wire/cable routing plans, construction details, single line diagrams, equipment, and conduit details
- Create cable and wiring schedule-based takeoffs and sizing input from design partners
- Develop familiarity with and improve upon Kimley-Horns practices, procedures, and standards
- Provide guidance and mentorship to team members throughout the production process
- Detail-oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player, self-starter
- Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills and desire to learn
- Associate Degree or Technical School Certificate in Electrical Design, Solar Design, Architectural/Engineering Drafting, or related degree 2-5 years of experience in the drafting/design of electrical MEP systems
- Proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley products preferred. Must have proficiency in REVIT
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Experience and knowledge of basic electrical design concepts preferred
- Working knowledge and ability to read construction drawings and specifications
